Assessment & Psychological Testing

Navigating the path to an accurate understanding of your mental health or neurodiversity can feel confusing and overwhelming. Psychological testing can provide clarity by gathering detailed, individualized information to support accurate diagnosis and actionable recommendations.

People seek assessment for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Questions about neurodiversity, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Clarifying complex or overlapping mental health concerns (e.g., anxiety, depression, PTSD)

  • Academic or workplace accommodations (e.g., extended time for exams)

I provide neuro-affirming assessments for adults, tailoring each evaluation to the individual’s needs. All assessments are private pay only, allowing for individualized care and flexibility in scheduling. My approach is collaborative, strengths-focused, and designed to give clients clear, practical information to guide treatment, support, and daily life.

The Assessment Process

  • Intake:
The intake begins with a two-hour session where I conduct a thorough interview. This includes developmental, family, mental health, and trauma history, as well as structured questions specific to the reason for your assessment. For example, in an Autism assessment, I may explore passionate interests or sensory experiences in depth.

  • Testing:
Next, I administer several psychological tests. Some tests may begin during intake, but most are scheduled for a follow-up session. While it is sometimes possible to complete testing in one session, many clients return for an additional session to finish the assessment battery or complete some assessments at home. Tests can include:

    • Real-world tasks (problem-solving or activities guided by Dr. Julia)

    • Self-report measures (multiple-choice or open-ended responses, with Dr. Julia available for clarification)

    • At-home measures (completed independently in one sitting, without assistance)

  • Scoring & Discussion:
After testing, data is scored and analyzed. I use a person-centered approach, incorporating your perspectives on the results throughout the process. You will have a one-hour Discussion session where I present preliminary findings, gather your input, and determine whether additional testing is needed. You always have the final say regarding participation in further testing.

  • Feedback & Recommendations:
The final session presents your results, explains diagnostic implications, and reviews recommendations — from workplace accommodations to coping strategies or helpful resources. General turnaround for final reports is 2–4 weeks, with shorter timelines available for an additional fee.

All assessments are conducted with a neuro-affirmative approach, recognizing and valuing diverse cognitive styles, strengths, and challenges. I strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where your experiences are understood and validated throughout the assessment process.
